I have been alive 18 years and the one thing that has been there for me no matter what. Let me start off with my mother. Brandi Spoonhour, she gave birth to me when she was 16 years old. She has been through so much throughout my life yet she still seems to always stay strong no matter what. When she was 17 she had another child my sister Kayliegh Cline (my original last name) but soon after she lost her mother and had to make the decision to put one of us up for adoption. She chose to put my sister up for adoption and decided to keep me and take care of me. She did not end up finishing school because she had to get a job to take care of me. She is one of the most hardworking, strongest women I've ever met and I love her so much.
Now let's talk about my Dad. Robert Spoonhour, here is where it gets complicated. He came into my life when I was 5 years old and has not left since. My "real" dad was no where to be found throughout my life. All he has done was send little child support checks here and there, in my eyes he's nothing but a sperm donor. I consider Robert my father no matter what anyone says. My dad has been there for me no matter what. He always encouraged me to do great in school and pushed me on the football field. Thanks to him I am where i am now playing football at Maryville College. This man does whatever it takes to make me happy, he would spend his last dollar to make sure that i had everything I need and want. I have seen him work from 7am to 7pm to make sure that we food on the table and clothes on our backs.
My brothers are also the best brothers you could ever ask for. Robert Spoonhour III and Jordan Spoonhour. These kids are the reason that I work so hard to be who I am. My parents say that they look up to me and i never really believed her until recently they started acting just like me. They both play football and they are both little beasts. I was the typical big brother to them when I was back home but now that I am 600 miles away i can't wait to go home and see them.
My grandparents are amazing on both sides of my family. On my moms side i have Larry Cole. He has always been there for me. Although he is not the typical grandparent who spoils the grandchild but he is a fun person to just hang out with and be around when your not having a good time. Like i said earlier my Grandmother passed away when i was very young so i didnt really know much about her but from what i heard i know she is just like my mom. On my dads side my grandmother is the typical grandmother. She spoils me to no return when she can. She is the sweetest, funniest lady you could ever meet. She is really down to earth and she loves to have fun. My grandfather on my dads side was the coolest person ever. He was a biker so he loved to have a good time but he always made sure that i stayed on track. He passed away recently but he will live on in my heart and on my arm, which i have a tattoo for him.
What a wonderful history you have!! I'm so happy that you shared all of that with me. Your mom sounds amazing! To imagine all that she went through and still remains strong. I hope to meet her one day.
