Journal #5

In the future i know i will be a successful person. I have seen and lived what its like to live paycheck to paycheck and i refuse to do so throughout my life. I want my kids to be able to have everything they need and want. I want my kids to be able to have people over at our house to have fun and hangout. I want to enjoy life to its fullest and i will do whatever it takes to be a successful person in the work-field and at home.

My future fantasy is to become a really successful lawyer. I have wanted to be a lawyer my whole life since my mom told me i was a good arguer. There are many perks to being a lawyer, and don't get me wrong the idea the money would be great, but i want to help innocent people. I had an uncle that went to jail and missed his kids birthday for something we all know he didn't do and i want to help all of the families that are going through the same thing.

A realistic dream of mine is to open up a law firm in California. I would love to live on the beach and be able to open up a law firm that will become one of the biggest in the state. The environment in California would be a perfect balance to the stress i will occur at work. And its a great place to raise a family and live my life to its fullest.

Journal #3

As you look ahead in your life what do you think you will become? Fantasy? Reality?

I have not really looked to far ahead in my life. I am not one of those people that have my life planned out so early in my young life. I like to go along day by day leaving my life open for opportunity. As of now I plan on becoming a psychologist. I want to be able to help people who are struggling in their life. It is gonna be easy for me to relate to people's problems because i know what they are going through.

This job can easily be a reality for me because I took psychology in high school and passed the AP exam with ease. When I came to maryville college I declared my major to be psychology so i plan on pursuing a career in it.

The reason im not so sure about what im going to do exactly is because as of now the only thing I know you can do after school is being a shink. Im sure during my time here at Maryville College someone will help me find a fun more interesting career to pursue after my time here. I like to live my life as exciting as possible because you only live once so you have to take advantage of the time you have. I want to be able to like what I am going to do for the rest of my life.

My Family

I have been alive 18 years and the one thing that has been there for me no matter what. Let me start off with my mother. Brandi Spoonhour, she gave birth to me when she was 16 years old. She has been through so much throughout my life yet she still seems to always stay strong no matter what. When she was 17 she had another child my sister Kayliegh Cline (my original last name) but soon after she lost her mother and had to make the decision to put one of us up for adoption. She chose to put my sister up for adoption and decided to keep me and take care of me. She did not end up finishing school because she had to get a job to take care of me. She is one of the most hardworking, strongest women I've ever met and I love her so much.

Now let's talk about my Dad. Robert Spoonhour, here is where it gets complicated. He came into my life when I was 5 years old and has not left since. My "real" dad was no where to be found throughout my life. All he has done was send little child support checks here and there, in my eyes he's nothing but a sperm donor. I consider Robert my father no matter what anyone says. My dad has been there for me no matter what. He always encouraged me to do great in school and pushed me on the football field. Thanks to him I am where i am now playing football at Maryville College. This man does whatever it takes to make me happy, he would spend his last dollar to make sure that i had everything I need and want. I have seen him work from 7am to 7pm to make sure that we food on the table and clothes on our backs.

My brothers are also the best brothers you could ever ask for. Robert Spoonhour III and Jordan Spoonhour. These kids are the reason that I work so hard to be who I am. My parents say that they look up to me and i never really believed her until recently they started acting just like me. They both play football and they are both little beasts. I was the typical big brother to them when I was back home but now that I am 600 miles away i can't wait to go home and see them.

My grandparents are amazing on both sides of my family. On my moms side i have Larry Cole. He has always been there for me. Although he is not the typical grandparent who spoils the grandchild but he is a fun person to just hang out with and be around when your not having a good time. Like i said earlier my Grandmother passed away when i was very young so i didnt really know much about her but from what i heard i know she is just like my mom. On my dads side my grandmother is the typical grandmother. She spoils me to no return when she can. She is the sweetest, funniest lady you could ever meet. She is really down to earth and she loves to have fun. My grandfather on my dads side was the coolest person ever. He was a biker so he loved to have a good time but he always made sure that i stayed on track. He passed away recently but he will live on in my heart and on my arm, which i have a tattoo for him.

Journal #2

Is money important to you?

Money is very important to me and my way of life. I know they say you can't buy happiness but to be honest I have seen people who do not have money and I know how it is to not have money and I do not like living like this at all.

Would you consider your family to (financially) upper-class, upper-middle, middle, lower-middle or lower?

I consider my family to be lower-middle class. My parents work really hard for everything they have but they have to support my two younger brothers and I. Not to mention they now have to support me being in college.

When you go out into the world as an adult, do you want a similar lifestyle to the one you grew up in?

I want to have the same lifestyle to an extent. I want to love my family as much as my family loves me but I wanna be better off financially.

Do you want to earn more money?

I want to earn more money than my family has because I do not want to live paycheck to paycheck and I want to make sure my kids have everything they want and need.

8) The thing i like most about myself is the fact that im easy to get along with and very outgoing.

9) The thing that bothers me the most about myself is i tend to be quiet when i first meet people because i dont want to be obnoxious

1) One of the biggest things thats happened to me during my life is when my step-father adopted me. It changed my life because i now had a father figure in my life and that helped me become the man i am today.
