Journal #2

Is money important to you?

Money is very important to me and my way of life. I know they say you can't buy happiness but to be honest I have seen people who do not have money and I know how it is to not have money and I do not like living like this at all.

Would you consider your family to (financially) upper-class, upper-middle, middle, lower-middle or lower?

I consider my family to be lower-middle class. My parents work really hard for everything they have but they have to support my two younger brothers and I. Not to mention they now have to support me being in college.

When you go out into the world as an adult, do you want a similar lifestyle to the one you grew up in?

I want to have the same lifestyle to an extent. I want to love my family as much as my family loves me but I wanna be better off financially.

Do you want to earn more money?

I want to earn more money than my family has because I do not want to live paycheck to paycheck and I want to make sure my kids have everything they want and need.

  1. There are many of us who come from backgrounds where money is very tight. I think that eventhough it is hard now, it instills in us a strong work ethic and we seem to appreciate things that other people take for granted. I feel that you have a strength to you that you are going to be able to use this for a positive outcome.
